2. Would you agree that there is no reason to feel bored in autumn?

Autumn evokes different emotions in us. Many people say that they feel bored in autumn. First of all, they believe that autumn is a time of wretched, beastly weather. You can`t go out and have to stay in, because it often rains outside and you can get wet through and through. And therefore, there are a lot of the slush and mud puddles everywhere. Days become shorter, and nights become longer. Moreover, it`s very cold out and you are always putting on all your warm clothes, which are really uncomfortable. And don't forget about the fog. There's nothing worse than autumn fog, when you can't see anything outside and have to wear gauze bandages to avoid the smog. Some people say that there is nothing to do in autumn, because it`s nasty out and there aren't many things to do at home to have a good time. And they have a point.

However, I cannot agree with the statement that autumn is a boring, dull or depressing time of year. In my opinion, there is definitely no reason for boredom in autumn. Despite its many drawbacks, this time of year has many advantages. It's not as bad as many people think. You can easily fall in love with this wonderful time of year.

Of course, after a long, sunny and hot summer full of activities such as beach volleyball, swimming, sunbathing and more, the coolness of autumn with its fading colours of nature can seem like a dreary time. We miss the birdsong, sunshine, blooming trees and beautiful flowers. And November fog and snowfall aren't the most pleasant of things, but think of an Indian summer. There's nothing more glorious than long and warm Indian summer, when we have one. The bright leaves, the songs of the sparrows - that's what allows us to enjoy autumn.

Nature begins to change colours. Leaves are turning a variety of colours - red, yellow and brown. You can have a good time picking brightly coloured leaves and creating a herbarium to commemorate autumn days.

Autumn is also a time of mushrooms. Warm rains flood the woods and a huge number of mushrooms appear: porcini, saffron milk caps, and butter mushrooms. A walk through the woods is magical and the air smells of spicy foliage. Culinary enthusiasts will also find something to do - you can preserve mushrooms for the winter or bake delicious mushroom pies.

Apples, grapes, thorns, and various nuts ripe in autumn, so many people are busy harvesting.

Fresh fruit and vegetables can be eaten fresh, and also be added to pies.

Pies with pumpkin, cabbage, fragrant autumn apples and cinnamon, cherries and many other gifts of nature are a delicious additions to sweet tea and an interesting film. Who doesn't love grandma's pies, especially the ones made of fresh fruit and vegetables? And making one together is a great way to have fun with family after a hard day's work.

Don't forget that autumn is the muse of poets and writers, so you can visit plenty of poetry performances or go to the theatre—autumn is usually the peak of theatrical productions.

The chill of autumn is very pleasant after the heat of summer, you can wear a warm wool jumper or scarf, or even better, knit one while sitting by the fireplace in the evening with a cup of cocoa.

What's autumn without Halloween? You can dress up in fancy dress and go trick-or-treating, or you can hand out candies yourself. A great idea is to carve a face into a pumpkin or make a candleholder out of it.

Most birds fly away in autumn, but some do stay. People can go to parks to feed the pigeons and sparrows and to ponds to feed bread to the ducks.

I'd like to add to all of this that autumn is a time of cosiness, homely gatherings with herbal teas, cinnamon coffee, old music records and warm plaids and jumpers. I can't think of a more interesting time of year, because autumn is for me the most fulfilling and colourful. The only downside I see is that autumn flies by quickly and winter sets in, and you may not have time to do everything you want to do on those beautiful warm days. Still, there is no finer time than autumn! There is absolutely no reason to be bored in autumn.
