5. Why do so many people prefer summer to any other season of the year?

There is no secret that very many people prefer summer to any other season of the year. Summer, compared to the other seasons, is the most pleasant and warm. There is nothing more beautiful than summer nature. Winter is very cold and sometimes severe, autumn is foggy and rainy, and spring can be very muddy and windy.

Summer is the hottest season of the year. The bright sunshine scorches the earth. There is not a single cloud in the sky. It is pleasant to get out of town, where one is so oppressed with the heat, and ramble through woods, among hills and valleys, following winding paths that are hardly seen to the naked eye in the thick green grass. The fields are green and shorn. The sun rays become hot, the days are long, and the nights are short and warm. It's a time of holidays, when people go to the seaside for sunbathing and swimming. It usually gets hot in July.

There are plenty of strawberries, cherries, raspberries, apricots, peaches, blackberries which ripe and become a treat for the old and the young. And what pleasure can compare with watching the glorious sunrise and sunset! It isn’t always cloudy, and there is no such thing like perpetual rain.

People are so much happier when summer comes around. It’s the season that is completely devoted to leisure and good time with people you love.

Most of the people living in suburban areas cannot bear too much summer heat, that’s why they set off for seaside resorts, hilly regions, beaches, camps or picnics at cool places in summer vacations with their children. They enjoy swimming, eating summer fruits and drinking cold drinks. For some people, summer season is good as they enjoy and entertain themselves at cool places.

Generally, people adore summer morning walk before sun rise as it gives cool, calm and happy feeling with fresh air.

It is all over good season for the children as they get long summer holiday, go camping, enjoy swimming, and eat ice-cream.

Summer is full of fun activities for people of all ages. First and foremost, there are all kinds of games - basketball, volleyball, football, golf and more. It's great to play sports and get some fresh summer air at the same time! You should also not forget about picking berries and mushrooms in the woods, hunting and fishing. And what could be better than summer in the countryside? Fresh air, bright sunshine, lush green gardens and flowerbeds with bright flowers.

There is no rain or cold, so you don’t need to wear many clothes. You can finally wear your favourite dress, skirt, T-shirt, shorts without a fear of catching a cold.

Finally, I think that summer is preferred more than the other seasons only because it is high time for the rest from work and your studies. You can enjoy yourself with your friends or your family and forget about any difficulties for some time.

6. What is your idea of a comfortable and well-furnished place to live in?

Every person has his own idea of a perfect house. Since the time immemorial, people always wanted to make their dwelling a place, where one feels comfortable and cosy, and where one always wants to come back to.

I`ve always been dreaming of a semi-detached house or even a cottage. I don’t want to live in a block of flats where you have noisy neighbours and problems with light, lift, or windows.

I mostly prefer a living place that should be spacious and there should be plenty of foliages around me. Usually, locations like these are unavailable in the cities, and thus I prefer rural areas. If there is a lake or pond beside my home, that would be preferable to me. The environment should be natural and every moment living in the house will be enjoyable. But the best house for me would be near any sea where I could enjoy the sunset and sun rising scenes.

I do not need a hugely built furnished house to live in, but it should be moderately spacious. Provision for natural light is a must for the house, and it should also contain standard size windows for ventilation. Besides, the house should have at least three rooms for my necessities. One should be the master bedroom for my sleeping, and there should be another small bedroom for guests with a medium living room. Besides, there should be a wide verandah where I could set a chair to enjoy the surrounding natural beauty with a cup of herbal tea. I would appreciate a two-storied building built on a small piece of land where the bedrooms will be on the first floor and the living room on the ground with a big garden that will be filled with beautiful flowers and trees.

The house should have three rooms with proper ventilation and an enriched library or at least a large size bookshelf. Heavy curtains should hang in the window so that I could make the room dark in my needs. The living room will be filled with comfortable sofas and small tables, few small plants on the corners, a showcase in a corner and the bookshelf beside the showcase. The wood furniture should be coloured in light black, while the walls will be white. The bedroom should be of light blue colour while guest room might be like green or orange, and the kitchen should be white. Everything should be organized in the right way.

Moreover, I want to pay great attention to detail. When it comes to the kitchen, I would like to see a huge amount of beautiful porcelain crockery, sets, glasses, sauces, plates and cutlery. I would also like the kitchen to be separate from the dining area, so that I would always eat separately from the cooking area. I would furnish the living room with upholstered furniture, add plaids, soft cushions, a fluffy rug and a glass coffee table to sip coffee in the morning and read the latest newspaper. Furthermore, as I love collecting candles and incense, I would like to furnish the room with vases of flowers and scented candles.

The bathroom should be spacious and, indeed, I would prefer to have two bathrooms. One would be a guest bathroom and the other would be my private one.

I believe that room décor is the most important part of home comfort. And how can you do without pictures? I would buy some beautiful paintings of my hometown and hang them on the walls.

In general, I want my home to be cosy and beautiful, so that after a long day at work or school I can relax in my beautiful home and look out on my wonderful garden on the verandah.
