Exercise 1. Read the text.

A Typical Day in My Life

Mandy Smith is a student at a polytechnic university but also she is a good swimmer. Mandy tells us about her typical day in her life.

I am always busy. My weekdays start getting up early at five o’clock in the morning. I go to the swimming club to do my daily training from quarter past five until quarter past six. Then I come home and have a quick shower at half past six. I get changed and have breakfast at half past seven. I usually have some cereal, two toasts and tea. My father takes me to the university at eight o’clock. Classes start at half past eight. I am at the university from half past eight to three o’clock in the afternoon. I have my lunch at the university at one o’clock. I usually eat a chicken sandwich and yoghurt. I drink a bottle of orange juice.

When I come home from the university, I change and get ready to go to the swimming club. I have another training from half past three until five o’clock. It’s hard work but I love swimming, I want to be a good swimmer. At about half past six, I have my dinner with my family. That is the time I see everyone and chat about anything. Then at eight o’clock, I do my homework or watch a film on TV with my family. I usually read before I go to bed at half past nine.

Exercise 2. Mark the sentences True (T), False (F) or Not Stated (NS) in the text.

Benefits of Leisure Time
