Complete Obstruction: Case Study

Figure 4.71 depicts case of developing lobar atelectasis resulting from a gunshot wound (GSW) and recovery following therapeutic bronchoscopy.

Findings: Fracture of the right mandible caused by the entry of the bullet. A bullet fragment is lodged in the trachea at the level of C2–C3. Also, notice that the arrow “RLL Atelectasis” in the first image on this page points to an ill-defined opacity of the right lower lobe.
