REVISITING SOME THEORETICAL AND METHODOLOGICAL ASPECTS OF CULTIVATING THE CIVIC CONSCIOUSNESS IN PUPILS AND SOME OTHER WAYS OF SOLVING
THE PENDING PROBLEMS
Abstract. Having conducted a vast and long-term experimental work with the secondary-school pupils of Murmansk general education institutions and with the students of the Murmansk Arctic State University, the author identifies the citizenship education as a system, the essence of which lies in the dialectical interconnection and organized unity of the four educational areas (patriotic and military-patriotic education, legal education and interethnic education) in accordance with the specified tasks, worked out by the society, government, secondary and higher education institutions.
This article describes the overall citizenship education model and its functional
levels.
