Abstract. The article presents the President of Russian Federation Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin quotes, he said at a meeting of the “victory” of the organizing

committee in the Kremlin. They are related to the notions of patriotism. Russian President linked patriotism with the service of Russia, with the service in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation to protect their homeland. Article ascertained fact in need of physical preparation of young people for service in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in the Arctic zone of the country. Presented in the article the comparative analysis of schools of military garrisons and towns of Murmansk region where the physical culture teacher for children to develop military-applied skill and those schools where teachers do not focus on the development of military-applied skill, the result of determined teenagers admission to military higher education institutions.
